SERACS Ltd had been contracted by Grow PNG Ltd – a subsidiary of Grow Asia – to develop a Land Access Guide (LAG) in consultation with the Land Access Working Committee (LAWC) and the key stakeholders and partners of agribusiness investment within the Markham Valley in Morobe Province.The LAG for agribusiness development was launched on the 17th of February 2021. The guide provides the regulatory context for the land and business investment, processes for accessing customary land for agribusiness, internal clan negotiation and communications, organizing customary group for land access, farming models, approaches to revenue sharing and disputes and conflict resolution concerning land. The development of the guide was an outcome of PNG-Australia Partnership in supporting agribusiness development along Markham Valley and Papua New Guinea (PNG). It was the first of its kind in PNG to have such document available for the agribusiness stakeholders to improve agriculture sector in the country.
